Thanks & Giving: Decorating For the Holiday, Part 1

This year, I am hosting Thanksgiving for the first time in my life.  I finally have space and tables big enough (thanks to Restoration Hardware and Z Gallerie) and family who has graciously decided to travel from both near and far to come to Chicago to celebrate the holiday with us.  Warms your heart, doesn’t it?  Well, it makes my heart beat about 100 times faster than it should as I have never once cooked a turkey, have no idea how I will be able to serve everything hot and I don’t even think we have enough plates.  And so, what am I focused on?  Decorating, of course (besides, who cares if the turkey is frozen when you serve it?!).

Here’s what I am thinking.  Why don’t I theme the whole day and night around Thanks & Giving.  Brilliant, I know.  And because I am Obsessed (with a capital O) with anything from Rifle Paper Co., I thought a variation of Thank You cards (you all know how I am a sucker for cards) could be perfect plate centerpieces and a way to show appreciation to our family.  I am loving bringing in some gold and burgundy into the mix, too!  What do you think?
