So I really didn’t think I would be doing anything this New Year’s Eve, given we have a 7 week old. But, we are and I have to admit, I am excited to get dressed up and have a little fun! I mean, nursing tank tops and stretchy pants are great and all, but sometimes a gal just wants to get dolled up, right?! Right.
Ringing in the New Year at the W South Beach hotel, Rick and I will be taking in a 5-course meal, fireworks, a DJ (since I am soooo into DJs), a cocktail or two for me, a cigar or two for Rick and a kiss at midnight to wrap it all up. The hotel offers a babysitting service so Zoey will be sleeping in a suite with a sitter and Rick and I will be checking on her roughly 800 times.
One minor problem. You know that aforementioned 7 week old ball of love I mentioned above? She came bringing me a few extra pounds. Nine months of extra pounds. So. Dressing up for New Year’s felt a little discouraging BUT, I have a choice. Embrace the baby weight and remember HOW WORTH IT IT IS and go on with my life. Or, stay at home in my nursing tank and stretch pants.
I’m going with the former. Which means I need a New Year’s Eve outfit. Gasp.
Miraculously, I found a dress when I wasn’t even looking. On sale. At Bloomingdales. In my pre-baby-weight size. That fits. Disclaimer: It’s deceivingly made of stretchy material.
Paired with some spanks (obvs), overdone gold and diamond jewelry for added drama and some booties I snagged up from Target, I’m in business! The whole outfit was about $100 and I’m excited to ring in the New Year in Miami with a positive attitude, a glass of champagne and a fresh and expectant outlook for what 2015 has in store for me. Cheers!
